Oslo — Norway
Oslo gets snow every winter, so if you’re looking for a white Christmas and check out the musical snow globes, then the city is certainly a good choice. There are also many ski resorts nearby, giving you plenty of opportunities to play around the cold white stuff.
Helsinki — Finland
Helsinki is another Scandinavian city that often has a white Christmas. The city also has amazing architecture and design buildings that become truly magical when you see them covered in snow.
Salzburg, Austria
Salzburg is one of my favorite cities to visit, and it’s even more cheerful at Christmas time. Shopping at the Plaza Market next to the snow-covered Salzburg Castle will make you feel like you’re in a fairy tale. When your white Christmas comes, you may not want to leave.
St. Petersburg, Russia
You have to be very brave to visit Russia in their winter. But if you can handle the cold, then visit St Petersburg anyway and you are guaranteed a white Christmas. But snow isn’t all the city has to offer, and with the amazing Winter Palace to visit, Russian culture is a must see. If you do have a cold, drink vodka like the Russians do.
Tallinn, Estonia
The capital of Estonia, Tallinn, is hardly a place to go on holiday, but if you want to go somewhere special for Christmas, then consider this quaint city. Many of the city’s streets are still cobblestones, and when combined with historic castles and well-maintained old buildings, it’s like stepping back in time. Cover it with a layer of snow and you have the magic of a white Christmas.
Chicago – Illinois
Chicago is a great place to spend Christmas, but there’s only a 50 percent chance of snow on Christmas Day. If no snow is falling, you can still visit open public ice skating and still have a great experience.
Prague – Czech Republic
Prague is a great place to visit and has developed into one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. While it’s the city least likely to have snow on Christmas Day on our list, it’s still more likely to get snow than most other places.
Aspen, Colorado
Aspen gets a white Christmas almost every year, but it’s not just the snow that draws visitors. People gather here because of the wonderful Christmas spirit and old world charm.
St. Moritz, Switzerland
St Moritz is so beautiful in winter that it has become a playground for the rich and famous, and because of this, prices have skyrocketed over the years. This amazing town is sure to take your breath away and all your savings.
Montreal, Canada
Christmas is over in Montreal. But the city is really cold, with temperatures recorded as low as 42 ° C (-44 ° C) at the peak of winter.
