‘FINAL DESTINATION 5′ Movie Review: It’s Better Than ‘Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.’

This picture is from 'Final Destination 4' - this pretty much summarises the feeling of watching that one.

The thing about ‘Final Destination 5’ is that it is pretty much like the fifth Harry Potter movie. It’s surprisingly good for a part 5 in a series. ‘Final Destination 4’ is pretty much like ‘Harry Potter 4’ in that it takes pretty easy shooting-fish-in-a-barrel-source material; and completely blows it. It’s like the ‘Friday the 13th’ remake: How hard is it to stuff up a bunch of teenagers dying? Whilst ‘Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire’ didn’t have much teenage death in it – it was awful. ‘Final Destination 4’ was awful. Terrible even. So bad that when they announced a part 5 everyone was like: NO! NO! NO! Read more…

CaptainAmerica-FirstAvenger-Still-15-HugoWeavingAsRedSkull

Yes and no. Superheroes have and will always remain a key and significant part in todays entertainment. Walk down a street and ask anyone which superhero they adore and the chances are you’ll be rewarded with a wide range of choices. But the likelihood of a character such as Captain Marvel or Clark Kent having more of an impact today may be less crucial than it once more. I know that’s a controversial statement and I’ll stand by it. Read more…

‘CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER’ Movie Review: Is This The Best Marvel Movie?

cap-new8

First up I encourage you to read our thoughts on ‘Thor.’

‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ is not a movie without its faults – but those faults are far and few between. For every mis-step there are dozens of wonderful choices taken. For the sake of giving you what you want straight up: ‘Captain America’ is very close to being the best Marvel movie (‘Iron Man’ – may have the edge). I adored the movie; and I urge you to see it the first chance you get. Read more…

First off; I will not be giving a score to this film. Not on the grounds that I want to destroy it – even though that I personally wish the child in this film to get hit by a car – but that I am not audience for the picture. Read more…

58th SYDNEY FILM FESTIVAL Movie Review: ‘CAVE OF FORGOTTEN DREAMS.’

One of the paintings on the wall.

The very last person I ever expected to dabble in 3D was Werner Herzog; and now here we are. The crazy, infamous German director known for a million projects – notably his work with Klaus Kinski (and their infamous clashes) on films including ‘Aguirre,’ ‘Nosferatu’ and ‘Fitzcarraldo.’ Read more…
