Thanks to Roadshow films I was lucky enough to be on the red carpet line for the Sydney Premiere of ‘Crazy Stupid Love.’

While I did have several questions pertaining to the film to ask Steve Carell, media time with him was short, so I only was allowed one question. Being the fan of ‘The Office’ that I am, I couldn’t resist using my time with him to ask about the show and his thoughts on the final episode – and how they resolved the character of Michael Scott. It is very brief, but enjoy:
Obviously there are SPOILERS for ‘The Office’ below:
ME: Hi Steve. It’s nice to meet you. I’m a really big fan of yours!
STEVE CARELL: Oh thank you so much!
ME: They’re only letting me ask one question.
STEVE: (In Steve carrel joker voice) Oh then I hope I give you the bestest answer!
(laughs)
ME: I love ‘The Office’ and I just have to ask about your final episode?
STEVE: Sure!

ME: I thought the ending to Michael Scott and your run on the show was perfect-
STEVE: Oh great! That’s fantastic! What do you want to know about it?
ME: Well I just wanted to ask if that was always the way you had seen it pan out for Michael, or if there were other versions the final episode went through?
STEVE: Oh! That’s a really great question. It was always the way we saw it. Me and Greg Daniels( US ‘The Office’ creator and show-runner) discussed it quite a bit throughout the last seasons, and we both wanted something sweet and not over blown. Like we never wanted it to be this big drama, we just wanted a subtle and understated goodbye. Which is why we went with the airport scene with Pam – we always had something in mind like that – and we ended it that way, which worked out really well! I hope that answered your question?
ME: Absolutely! Thanks so much Steve!
STEVE: Thank you so much!
Short but sweet!
